The Vice Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi Central, Comr. Mamood Avavome Muhammed, has led a delegation on a condolence visit to the Executive Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area, Hon. Bashiru Rasheed Okatengwu, following the demise of his father, Mallam Abdulrasheed Ajayi Umezeyi.
The delegation comprised NYCN Coordinators from across the five local government areas in Kogi Central, alongside a State Executive Member, Comr. Eneji.
While commiserating with Hon. Bashiru and his family, Comr. Mamood described the late Mallam Umezeyi as a man of honour, discipline, and community spirit whose contributions to societal growth remain commendable.
He further noted that the virtues of the late patriarch are evident in the leadership qualities of his son, Hon. Bashiru, who continues to serve Adavi with dedication and humility.
In his response, Hon. Bashiru expressed deep appreciation to the NYCN Central delegation for their show of solidarity and words of comfort during his family’s period of grief. He described his late father as a pillar of strength and an embodiment of selflessness who devoted his life to the welfare of others.
The visit ended with prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased and for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
