The Hausa/Fulani Political Movement for FAWWASS has organised a special prayer session seeking divine guidance, protection and success for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and the Accountant General of Kogi State, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko.
The prayer session brought together members and supporters of the movement, who offered prayers for the leaders, asking Allah to grant them wisdom, strength, good health and the ability to continue to serve the people with justice and dedication.
The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheikh Salihu Abere, who also prayed for peace, unity, stability and progress in Ebiraland, Kogi State and Nigeria.
Sheikh Abere urged muslims and members of the Hausa/Fulani community to continue to pray for those in authority, emphasizing the importance of responsible support, constructive engagement and obedience to legitimate authority within the limits of Islamic teachings.
The Imam drew inspiration from Surah An-Nisa, Chapter 4, Verse 59, where Allah says:
“O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you.”
He explained that the verse highlights the Islamic teaching on respect for constituted authority and obedience to legitimate authority, while reminding believers that such obedience must remain within the framework of obedience to Allah and His Messenger.
Speaking shortly after the prayer session, the Coordinator of the Hausa/Fulani Political Movement for FAWWASS, Alhaji Usman Isah, said the gathering was not merely a political event but also an expression of the Hausa/Fulani community desire for peaceful leadership, good governance and the continued progress of Ebiraland, Kogi State and Nigeria.
He commended the Kogi State Accountant General, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, for her continued support and positive relationship with the Hausa/Fulani community in the state, especially in Ebiraland.
'I appreciate our mother, Dr. Habibat Onumoko for her efforts to bridge the gap between the Hausa/Fulani community and the Kogi State Government. Her support had strengthened the relationship between the Hausa/Fulani community and the present government'.
Alhaji Usman also disclosed that members of the Hausa/Fulani community who are 18 years and above have obtained their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and are fully prepared to participate actively in the forthcoming elections.
He expressed the group's readiness to support the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing the Governor's leadership as deserving of continued encouragement and prayers.
He called on members of the community to remain peaceful, united and politically conscious, while exercising their constitutional right to vote for candidates whose programmes and leadership they believe will advance the interests of the people.
Dignitaries at the event included the Sarki Hausawa, Alh. jimah Jango, Alh. Aliyu Daura
and representatives of various political groups across Kogi Central, as well as other community leaders and supporters of the movement.
