In recent times, a few isolated voices have attempted to question the continued leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State. To me, these are nothing more than lone voices in the wilderness; individuals who have lost touch with the realities of governance and the overwhelming love the Governor enjoys from the good people of Kogi State.
The truth is simple and undeniable: Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has redefined leadership with purpose, humility, and performance. From the East to the West and across the Central Senatorial District, the people are united in their appreciation of his steady progress and people-oriented governance.
Under his watch, Kogi State continues to witness peace, infrastructural renewal, administrative stability, and improved social services. His approach to leadership has rekindled public confidence and strengthened the bond of unity among our people. Sustained empowerment programmes, prompt payment of salaries to our esteemed workers and pensioners, improved food security and sustainability through robust agricultural initiatives, and enhanced security surveillance are all clear testaments to his focused and result-driven governance.
As one who works closely with His Excellency, I can boldly attest that Governor Ododo is not driven by politics but by passion; passion to consolidate the gains of the past and to build a stronger, more inclusive Kogi State for generations to come. He is accessible, sincere, and deliberate in ensuring that no community is left behind in the state’s development journey.
Those who pretend not to see the Governor’s achievements may continue to do so, but the truth remains that the people have seen the light and will not return to darkness. The housing transformation, improved healthcare delivery, renewed rural infrastructure, and sustained empowerment programmes are undeniable evidence that Kogi State is in safe hands.
Let it be unequivocally clear: there is no vacancy in Lugard House come 2027. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and President Tinubu is for Governor Ododo, just as all Kogites are united behind both leaders under the strong and formidable structure of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In Kogi State, there is no discrimination. Governor Ododo has raised the banner of democracy high, and its dividends are reaching every nook and cranny of the state. Continuity is therefore assured. Those making needless noise for selfish gains should drop their ego and learn to appreciate the spoon that once fed them.
Let us not forget that the power shift across the Niger and Benue rivers was by divine intervention.
We are all brothers and sisters who have entrusted our brother and son to serve and he is serving well. The negative voices from within the same family are unnecessary. What is needed now is unity of purpose and collective support for the Chief Servant of Kogi State to continue providing purposeful leadership.
For instance, the system that produced a Senator from Yagba East for Kogi West is a clear demonstration of fairness, structure, and inclusiveness. That same system is still well-positioned to hand over power to the zone in 2031 if God permits.
Let us, therefore, rise above distractions and continue to rally behind this purposeful administration that is setting new standards in leadership and service delivery.
Together, we shall keep the flag of progress flying high.
