UKPE & EWE-EJI: Osiako Felicitates Ogori People, Reiterates Commitment to Development

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, Hon. Sunday Ezekiel Osiako, has congratulated the people of Ogori Land on the celebration of the Ukpe and Ewe-Eji New Year Festival, describing the occasion as a celebration of unity, cultural heritage, thanksgiving, and renewal.

In a goodwill message issued on Thursday in Ogori, Hon. Osiako said the annual festival provides sons and daughters of Ogori, both at home and in the diaspora, with an opportunity to reflect on their shared heritage and renew their commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of the community.

He commended the leadership of the Ogori Descendants Union (ODU), led by Dr. Gabriel Aiso, and stakeholders in the community for working closely and organizing a rich lineup of activities that has made this year's celebration memorable and impactful.

The APC chairmanship candidate urged the people to continue to uphold the cherished Ogori principle of "One Maketh Ninety-Nine a Hundred," stressing that unity, collective responsibility, and mutual cooperation remain the bedrock of sustainable development.

As part of his continued grassroots strategic engagements, he personally visited the Ogori local market where he purchased fresh farm produce and interacted warmly with the market women. He assured them that grants will be provided to support their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

He also encouraged the traders and residents to continue to support the administration of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, noting that the state government remains committed to expanding economic opportunities and implementing people-oriented programmes that will benefit citizens across Kogi State.

Reiterating his vision for Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, Hon. Osiako pledged to provide purposeful and inclusive leadership that would prioritize infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, quality education, agricultural development, and economic growth.

He further called on the people to remain united and continue to support initiatives that promote peace, harmony, and sustainable development, emphasizing that the future of Ogori Land depends on a shared vision and collective commitment to progress.

Hon. Osiako prayed that the new traditional year would usher in abundant blessings, bumper harvests, good health, enduring peace, and greater prosperity for every household in Ogori Land.
