
The Kogi Central Persons with Disability Association (KCPWDA), under the leadership of Hon. Yakubu Nazir Abdulhakeem (Brain Not Legs), the Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs, and President of the disabled community in Kogi Central, has paid a courtesy visit to the Accountant-General of Kogi State, Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani (Nee Onumoko), FCNA, FCTI.
The visit was aimed at appreciating the Accountant General's kindness, support, and commitment to inclusivity, which continue to inspire members of their community.
During the visit, the association acknowledged Dr. Habibat Oyiza's contributions towards making the Office for Disability Affairs more accessible, including the concreting of the compound to ease movement for persons with disabilities, particularly wheelchair users.
The Accountant-General was also commended for her recent humanitarian gesture of providing cash, clothes, and food items to members of the association.
KCPWDA further extended appreciation to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State, for his visionary leadership and dedication to inclusive governance.
His confidence in the Executive Secretary was described as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities, the association acknowledged.
The association also recognized the contributions of the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for laying the foundation of inclusivity in the state.
In her counsel, the Accountant-General reminded members that “begging is not part of Ebira culture,” a principle the association acknowledged as a guiding light in their pursuit of dignity, unity, and progress.
Members were encouraged to remain united, speak with one voice, and set aside ethnicity, tribalism, and egoism in advancing a brighter and more inclusive future.
The association prayed for continued blessings upon Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and all who support the disability community, while expressing optimism that the dividends of democracy and inclusive governance will reach every citizen of Kogi State.
