Kogi State Accountant-General Visits Onyukoko, Obehira Wards in Okene
Over the weekend, the Accountant-General of Kogi State, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, defied a heavy downpour to visit the Onyukoko and Obehira communities.
Her visits to the wards came shortly after she received various groups, including drivers from Kogi Central, the Aningere Community, and the Igbo Community at her residence in Okene.
At Onyukoko Ward, the stakeholders expressed appreciation to the Accountant-General for the visit and used the opportunity to present some of their pressing needs, that included the provision of transformers in certain areas and the construction of proper drainage systems to manage water flow, especially during the rainy season.
In Obehira Uvete Community, the stakeholders emphasized the need for the construction of a flyover at the popular Obehira Junction to help reduce accidents in the area.
Requests were also made for transformers and adequate water supply to serve the community.
While in Obehira Eba where the AG and her entourage were also warmly received, the community listed their major needs, including access to clean water, electricity transformers, and road infrastructure.
In all the locations visited, Dr. Habibat thanked the people for their warm receptions and assured them that their concerns would be given due attention.
She emphasized that her visit was not for political campaigning but to thank the communities for their support in the last elections and to identify areas that require government intervention.
She admonished the residents of the area to remain law-abiding and to actively engage in government initiatives designed to bring relief and development to the people.
