Aningere Community in Okene II Pays Courtesy Visit to Kogi AG, Seeks More Recognition

A delegation of Uneme Blacksmiths from Obehira, Okene local government area has expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his leadership style and government. 

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Accountant-General of Kogi State, Dr Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko in her Okene residence, the group emphasized their commitment to the progress of the state.

The Uneme community explained their long-standing contributions to Ebiraland, stating that they have consistently participated in elections in Ebiraland and supported government policies.

They however, expressed concern over the low recognition and supports given to them in Ebiraland, and appealed for greater recognition, stressing that their craft plays a vital role in local industry and cultural heritage.

They assured Governor Ododo of their continued support and loyalty to his administration, while calling for inclusion in future empowerment and development programs.

In her response, Dr Habibat noted their challenges and assured them of efforts to amplify  their voices and explore avenues for support and empowerment.

She said the government of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo does not discriminate.

"The dividend of democracy is reaching every household, and this government is ensuring that every citizen has access to basic necessities and opportunities for growth. From infrastructure development to social welfare programs, our administration is committed to bridging the gap and promoting inclusivity.", she stated.

According to her, the government of the day is working religiously to ensure every individual, regardless of their background or location, can benefit from the progress the government has made.

"The dividends of democracy are not just a promise, they're a reality that's being felt across the land. No one would be left out", she added.
