Accountant-General of Kogi State, Habibat-Oyiza, Calls for Sustained Prayers for Departed Souls at Fidau for Late Alh. Momohsani Ododo
A three-day (Fida’u) prayer was on Thursday held for the repose of the soul of the late father of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, who passed away on Monday at a hospital in Abuja.
Among the hundreds of sympathisers who gathered in Okene for the solemn occasion was the Accountant-General of Kogi State, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko.
Dr Habibat-Oyiza, speaking with newsmen shortly after the prayer session, emphasized the importance of offering constant prayers for the departed, stressing that such acts of devotion should not be confined to a set number of days.
She expressed deep appreciation to the delegation of the Federal Government, who visited earlier, for honouring the late Ododo.
She said, "We, the people of Kogi State, have no words of appreciation sufficient to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has shown compassion and deep respect to our governor and the people of Kogi State in this moment of grief.”
According to her, the presence of Federal government delegation has not only brought comfort and reassurance to the Governor and his family, but also reaffirmed President Tinubu's commitment to standing with the people in moments of grief and trial.
She observed that the presence of dignitaries and the massive turnout of sympathisers was not something money could buy, stressing that the large number of Nigerians who came to console Governor Ododo reflects his rising image as a servant leader.
The Accountant General also offered special prayers for former Governor Yahaya Bello, acknowledging him as a strong pillar of comfort to the bereaved family of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and commended his commitment to good governance in Kogi State.
She prayed that Almighty Allah grants the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo the highest rank in Jannah.
