"When They Make Noise on Social Media, Ask Them If They Have PVC” — FAWWASS

The FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS) has urged its members and other supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to be distracted by political noise on social media, stressing that genuine political participation goes beyond online comments, arguments and criticism.

The President of the socio-political group, Hon. Bilikisu Aliyu said that whenever individuals make loud political claims or engage in heated debates on social media, a simple question should be asked: “Do you have your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC)?”

According to her, social media engagement is not a substitute for participation at the polling unit. What ultimately matters in an election is the ability of eligible voters to exercise their constitutional right to vote.

She therefore encouraged FAWWASS members to focus on grassroots mobilisation, voter registration and collection of their PVCs, while sensitising others in their communities to do the same.

The group maintained that political strength is built not only through social media visibility but through genuine grassroots presence, commitment and participation in the electoral process.

“Let them make all the noise they want on social media. When the time comes, ask them one simple question: Do you have your PVC?” She stated.
