The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogori/Magongo Local Government Chapter, has commended renowned philanthropist and community development advocate, High Chief Meka Sylvanus Adesina, for sponsoring the Junior Secondary Inter-School Quiz Competition involving schools from Okene and Ogori/Magongo Local Government Areas.
The Council described the initiative as a strategic investment in the educational development of young learners and a commendable effort towards promoting academic excellence.
Speaking on behalf of the Council, the Coordinator, Comrade Tayo Onimisi Omodaiye, stated that the competition provided a healthy platform for students from participating schools to demonstrate their academic abilities, build self-confidence, and engage in intellectual competition.
According to him, "Over the years, High Chief Meka Adesina has consistently implemented impactful humanitarian initiatives aimed at reducing poverty, promoting education, empowering young people, and improving the welfare of vulnerable individuals across Kogi Central."
He noted that the Council deeply appreciates High Chief Meka's commitment to youth and educational development, adding that his support reflects a strong belief in education as a catalyst for societal transformation and sustainable development.
The NYCN further called on other well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations, and philanthropists to emulate High Chief Meka Adesina by investing in programmes that positively impact the lives of young people and strengthen the education sector.
The Council also congratulated UBE/JSS RCM Compound Magongo for emerging as the overall winner of the competition, describing the victory as a pointer to the hard work, dedication, and academic excellence of the students and their teachers.
