Kogi 2025/2026 ASC Sensitization: SA on Education, Abdulmalik, Commends Stakeholders
The Special Adviser on Education to the Kogi State Government, Hon. Abdullahi Abdulmalik, has commended stakeholders across the education sector for their active participation and commitment to the sensitization and advocacy programme for the Kogi State 2025/2026 Annual School Census (ASC).
Hon. Abdulmalik described the Annual School Census as a vital exercise that provides the foundation for effective educational planning, policy formulation, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation. According to him, accurate and reliable data remains indispensable for informed decision-making and serves as a critical tool for government and development partners in addressing the needs of schools and improving learning outcomes across the state.
He noted that the engagement was both timely and strategic, as it aims to deepen awareness, strengthen collaboration, and mobilize support for the successful implementation of the census exercise across Kogi State.
The Special Adviser applauded the active involvement of education administrators, school proprietors, community leaders, development partners, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders, describing their participation as a clear demonstration of the collective commitment to advancing quality education in the state.
Hon. Abdulmalik also commended the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, for his dedication to transforming the education sector through data-driven planning and evidence-based interventions. He described the Commissioner as “a round peg in a round hole,” whose leadership continues to strengthen educational development and service delivery across Kogi State.
