The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming local government election in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, Hon. Sunday Ezekiel Osiako, has congratulated former Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello, over his victory at the APC senatorial primary election in Kogi Central.
Former Governor Bello emerged victorious in the exercise conducted through the direct primary format, polling a total of 72,399 votes to defeat other aspirants in the contest.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, Hon. Osiako described the APC primary election as peaceful, transparent, and one of the most credible exercises conducted by the party in Kogi State since its inception.
According to him, the overwhelming victory recorded by Alhaji Yahaya Bello was a clear reflection of the confidence, acceptance, and support he enjoys among party faithful and the people of Kogi Central.
Hon. Osiako noted that the primary election witnessed a massive turnout of what he described as “truly organic voters and committed APC members” across the various wards in the senatorial district, adding that the exercise further demonstrated the strength of internal democracy within the ruling party.
He said the orderly conduct of the exercise and the participation of party members across the district showed that the APC remains united, focused, and prepared for future electoral victories in Kogi State.
Hon. Osiako also commended Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for providing purposeful, inclusive, and people-oriented leadership, which he said has continued to strengthen and reposition the APC ahead of future elections in the state.
He concluded by urging members and supporters of the APC across Kogi State to remain united, loyal, and committed to the ideals and vision of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the APC would continue to record greater victories across the state.
