
The Late Hajia Hawau Bello Memorial / Other Departed Souls Prayer Group is set to hold its 4th Anniversary Prayer Session on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
The annual prayer session, which has become a significant spiritual gathering in Ebiraland, is organized in memory of the late Hajia Hawau Bello and other departed souls, with the aim of seeking Allah’s mercy and forgiveness upon them.
The organizer of the event, Mallam Mustapha Momoh, disclosed that the Qur’an recitation will be led by the Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheikh Salihu Abere.
The lecture will be delivered by Mallam Abdulmumin Abu Obehira, and he's expected to speak on the importance of prayers for the departed and the rewards attached to acts of remembrance in Islam.
Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, is expected to serve as the Chief Host of the occasion. The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland will serve as the Father of the Day, while Hajia Jummai Abdullahi will be the Mother of the Day.
Special Guests of Honour expected at the event include the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo; Senator Abubakar Sadiq Ohere; Engr. Ohieku Muhammed Salami; and Alhaji Mohamed Bello.
Other distinguished personalities billed to attend include the Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Ali Bello; Hon. Bashiru Gegu; and the Kogi State Accountant-General, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Onumoko.
All Local Government Chairmen across Kogi central are also expected to grace the occasion.
The prayer session is aimed at offering collective prayers for all departed souls and seeking Allah’s boundless mercy and forgiveness upon them. The organizers call on well-wishers, Islamic scholars, community leaders, and members of the public to attend and participate in the solemn and spiritually uplifting gathering.
