Wife of the Governor of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed her commitment to grassroots empowerment by supporting roadside mechanics with uniforms aimed at enhancing their professionalism and identity.
Leveraging the Radio Talk Show platform, “Andayi Akoronini,” a programme aimed at promoting entrepreneurs and business ideas within Kogi state, the First Lady reached out to the mechanics at their workplaces, where she emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
She urged them to embrace a culture of cleanliness as part of their daily operations.
Represented by the Senior Special Assistant on Petroleum Exploration to the Kogi State Governor, Hon. Muhammad Abdulrazaq Omeiza, the First Lady used the opportunity to encourage students in both secondary and tertiary institutions to engage in vocational and productive activities. According to her, acquiring practical skills remained vital for personal development and economic empowerment.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Abdullahi Aminu, commended the First Lady’s gesture and appealed to the State Government to further assist them with essential tools and equipment to boost productivity and improve their livelihoods.
It will be recalled that earlier in January, the First Lady hosted artisans across Kogi Central in Okene, where she also extended support to small-scale entrepreneurs as part of her ongoing empowerment initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of artisans.
