Osiako Backs Community Cleanup of Ogori Cemetery

Osiako Backs Community Cleanup of Ogóri Cemetery

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the forth-coming Ogori/Magongo Local Government election, Hon. Sunday Ezekiel Osiako, has thrown his weight behind the ongoing community-led cleanup exercise at the IIeteju Graveyard in Ogori, commending residents for their commitment to environmental sanitation and the preservation of the sacred site.
Hon. Osiako, who spoke during the exercise, commended residents, traditional rulers, youth groups, and volunteers for taking proactive steps to restore dignity and cleanliness to the historic burial ground.
He noted that the condition of graveyards reflects the values of a society and urged communities to take ownership of public spaces rather than always waiting for the government intervention.

The graveyard is not just a burial site; it is part of our heritage and history. Keeping it clean is a mark of respect for the departed and a duty we owe future generations,” he said.
Hon. Osiako urged youths and community leaders to sustain the momentum of the exercise and extend similar sanitation efforts to other graveyards across the area.

He further pledged his continued support for grassroots initiatives aimed at promoting environmental awareness, civic responsibility, and overall community development.
