Ogori/Magongo LG Chairman, Education Stakeholders Back NYCN Inter-Secondary School Quiz Competition

The Chairman of Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, Hon. Rosemary Ohiezu, alongside key education stakeholders and community leaders, has endorsed the proposed Inter-Secondary School Quiz Competition being organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogori/Magongo Chapter.

The endorsement was given during a stakeholders’ engagement held in the local government area, where participants described the initiative as a timely and strategic intervention aimed at promoting academic excellence, healthy competition, and intellectual development among secondary school students.
Hon. Ohiezu commended the initiative, noting that investing in education remains one of the most effective ways to secure the future of the younger generation. She pledged the local government’s moral and institutional support for the programme, emphasizing that academic competitions serve as vital platforms that motivate students to pursue excellence.
Education stakeholders in the area also expressed strong support for the quiz competition, and noted that such academic engagements help to channel students’ energy toward productive and intellectually rewarding activities.

Speaking at the meeting, the NYCN Coordinator, Comr. Tayo Onimisi Omodaiye, explained that the inter-secondary school quiz competition is designed to promote academic excellence and identify outstanding students in the local government area. He added that the competition will cover core subjects and will be conducted in a transparent and competitive manner.
Comr Tayo also revealed that the Inter-Secondary School Quiz Competition will attract participation from both public and private secondary schools in the local government area.
