Ododo Extends Support to Sambel Shop Owners Affected by Demolition in Okene

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has extended financial support and reassurance to shop owners affected by the demolition of a building at the popular Sambel area in Idoji Ward, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.

 The demolition, carried out in January, followed security concerns and alleged criminal activities traced to the location.

Represented by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Okene Local Government Area, Hon. Tijani Bello, the Governor assured affected tenants and shop owners of the state government’s commitment to compensation and rehabilitation.
He emphasized that peace and security remain critical prerequisites for sustainable business and community development.
Governor Ododo further reassured residents of Idoji Ward that the state government would soon announce the next line of action regarding the land where the demolished structure was situated. He noted that all decisions would follow due process and be guided by the collective interest of the community.

Speaking on behalf of the affected shop owners, Alhaji Aliyu Bello, popularly known as Adayi Sambel, expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for the compassionate gesture, describing it as a demonstration of responsive and people-centered leadership.
Community leaders and residents also commended the Governor for his intervention, expressing optimism that the government’s actions would restore confidence, stability, and economic activities in the area.
