The Kogi State Accountant-General, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, has called on residents of Kogi Central Senatorial District to rally round former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, stressing that the time has come to give back to a leader who has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the development of the state.
Dr. Habibat made the call while addressing women from Kogi Central through the President of the FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS), Hon. Bilikisu Aliyu Ahovi, urging them to mobilise grassroots support for Bello’s ambition to represent the district in the Senate.
According to the Accountant-General, Bello’s administration recorded remarkable achievements across critical sectors, including healthcare delivery, security, infrastructure development, education, and economic empowerment, laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth across the state.
She described the former governor as a visionary and detribalised leader, whose policies and programmes impacted positively on people across the length and breadth of Kogi State, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.
“Alhaji Yahaya Bello is a leader who served with passion and foresight. His leadership brought measurable progress and renewed hope to our people. This is our opportunity to give back by supporting his senatorial ambition,” Dr. Habibat stated.
She further charged residents of Kogi Central to mobilise their communities, engage actively in the political process, and participate fully in the forthcoming elections, noting that Bello’s experience and dedication would enable him to effectively champion the interests of the district at the national level.
Dr. Habibat expressed confidence that with the collective support of the people, Alh. Yahaya Bello would continue his legacy of purposeful leadership and quality representation in the Senate.
