As Christians celebrate this year’s Christmas, the Kogi State Accountant-General, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, has called on citizens across the state to embrace peace, unity, and mutual understanding during the festive season.
In a goodwill message personally signed by her and made available to journalists on Thursday in Okeneba during Ebira Cultural Funfare event, Dr. Habibat reminded the people of Kogi State that the true essence of Christmas is reflected in goodwill, love, and harmony among all.
She noted that Christmas offers a special opportunity for reconciliation and collective reflection.
“This season of joy reminds us to put aside our differences and focus on what unites us as a people. Peace remains the bedrock of any prosperous and secure society. I therefore urge all citizens of Kogi State to make peace a personal priority during this festive period,” she said.
Dr. Habibat also called on residents to continue to support the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, adding that the spirit of peace and unity should be carried into the New Year and beyond.
“Let us enter 2026 with open hearts and a renewed commitment to make Kogi State a beacon of peace and prosperity. Together, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and generations yet unborn,” she added.
She wished Christians and all residents of the state a peaceful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year.
