Ebira Muslim Peace Initiative Organizes One-Day Peace Conference
The Ebira Muslim Peace Initiative has successfully organized a one-day Peace Conference with the theme, “The Essence of Peace and Unity Among the Muslim Ummah in Ebiraland.”
According to the Chairman of the Committee, Ustaz Ismaila Obosi Suleiman, the program was designed to advocate unity, tolerance, and forgiveness among members of the muslim community.
The event brought together prominent Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the muslim ummah to deliberate on ways to strengthen harmony and promote Islamic values of brotherhood, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
The conference was gracefully attended by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who commended the organizers for their commitment to promoting peace and unity in Ebiraland. He emphasized that meaningful development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and urged Muslims to continue to be ambassadors of harmony in their various communities.
Also in attendance was the revered traditional ruler, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Anaje, whose presence added royal blessings and significance to the occasion. In his remarks, the Ohinoyi called on religious leaders, youths, and other stakeholders to always work together to prevent misunderstandings and conflicts capable of disrupting communal peace.
Professor Adam Ahmed Abere, who delivered a thought-provoking lecture highlighted Islamic injunctions on unity and the dangers of division among the Ummah. He reminded participants that Islam is a religion built on peace, justice, and compassion.
Other notable dignitaries at the event included Sheikh Lukman Abdullahi, Sheikh Abdulqudoos Naibil Imam, Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheikh Salihu Abere, Sheikh Sambai Isah Ruhullah, Sheikh Yekeen Abdulqodir, Ambassador Usman Bello, and Dr. Isa Ozi Salami, among several respected personalities who all lent their voices to the call for peace.
The conference featured lectures, interactive sessions, and special prayers for Ebiraland and Kogi State.
