KERC Organizes Stakeholders’ Engagement and Sensitization Program in Kogi Central
The Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has commenced a comprehensive stakeholders’ engagement and sensitization program across Kogi Central.
According to Mr Suleiman Isah, the General Manager, MCR, the initiative is aimed at deepening public understanding of electricity regulations, promoting consumer rights, enhancing compliance, and strengthening collaboration between service providers and electricity users in the region.
KERC officials during the engagement session at the Palace of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland in Okene, interacted with community leaders, electricity consumers, youth groups, Kogi Electricity Distribution Limited, business owners, and relevant stakeholders to address key issues affecting power supply and distribution.
The commission also sensitized participants on Offences and penalties (the Kogi State electricity law 2024), safety guidelines, billing procedures, energy theft prevention, and the newly improved complaint-resolution mechanisms.
While reaffirming KERC's commitment to ensuring an efficient, safe, and consumer-friendly electricity environment in Kogi State, Mr Suleiman revealed the phone number 09124267545 as the Consumer Complaint line that is available to electricity consumers 24/7.
The Commission further assured residents of continued efforts to work closely with distribution companies and communities to improve service delivery and promote accountability within the sector.
