Chief OC Congratulates Amupitan on Appointment as INEC Chairman
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi Central Senatorial District, Hon. Ibrahim Musa, popularly known as Chief OC, has congratulated Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN) on his appointment as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Professor Amupitan, a distinguished scholar and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, was unanimously confirmed by the National Council of State, following his earlier nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Chief OC described Amupitan’s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding academic accomplishments, professional integrity, and decades-long commitment to the rule of law and good governance in Nigeria.
He further noted that Professor Amupitan’s elevation marks a historic milestone, as he becomes the first person from Kogi State, in the North Central geo-political zone, to head the electoral commission.
Chief OC expressed confidence that the new INEC Chairman will bring his wealth of experience and deep sense of justice to bear in strengthening Nigeria’s electoral process and upholding democratic values across the nation.
“Professor Amupitan has always stood for fairness, transparency, and accountability,”
“I have no doubt that under his leadership, Nigerians will witness a more credible, independent, and technologically driven electoral system that truly reflects the people’s will.”, Chief OC stated.
