Barr. Bello Ahmed: A Square Peg in a Square Hole, Rekindling Hope for Maize Growers in Nigeria— ABK

Members and stakeholders of the Maize Growers, Processors, and Marketers Association of Nigeria (MAGPAMAN) have been commended for electing Barr. Bello Ahmed as their new president.

As a development activist and political strategist, I consider this a bold and timely decision, one that truly places a square peg in a square hole.

Barr. Bello Ahmed is a forward-thinking, committed individual whose leadership promises to reignite hope in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

His emergence aligns with the federal government's renewed commitment to achieving food security, a goal being pursued with urgency and resolve.

At a time when Nigeria is blessed with abundant resources yet struggles with food insecurity, it is essential for associations like MAGPAMAN to be led by individuals who can negotiate favorable outcomes for members and influence policy meaningfully.

Such leadership must be visionary, accessible to key stakeholders, and capable of inspiring unity across board.

We applaud the association for setting this worthy precedent and urge other agric-sector bodies to emulate this by prioritizing leadership with competence, credibility, and commitment.

Congratulations once again to Barr. Bello Ahmed. We look forward to engaging with you and offering our support as you take on this vital role.
