
The Ogori/Magongo chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has extended heartfelt appreciation to the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Monday Anyebe, for his continued efforts in engaging young people across Kogi State.
During a well-attended town hall meeting in Akpafa, the NYCN Coordinator, Comr Tayo Onimisi Omodaiye thanked the commissioner for creating platforms for dialogue and inclusion, especially for the youth of Ogori/Magongo.
The meeting according to the Coordinator served as a crucial opportunity to review the performance of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, in less than two years in office.
Comr Tayo noted that the forum was not just a review session but also a call to action for youths to become active stakeholders in governance and development.
The commissioner, in his address, reiterated governor Ododo's commitment to youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and inclusive governance.
The engagement highlighted key achievements under Governor Ododo’s administration, including ongoing infrastructure projects, youth development initiatives, and renewed focus on grassroots participation.
The youths of the area praised the open-door approach of governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and appealed to the governor to create more opportunities for youth"s involvement in policy-making and implementations.
Stakeholders in the local government area who were present included the local government Chairman, Hon. Rosemary Ohiezu, her Vice, Hon. Williams Alao, the Special Adviser to the governor on Youth and Women Mobilization, Hon. Charity Ijese, APC party chairman in the area, Hon. Ojo Aturu amongst others.
