Public Notice: Regulation of Trailer Movement in Kogi State
The Kogi State Traffic Management Agency (KOTRAMA) wishes to inform the general public of a new regulation regarding the movement of heavy-duty vehicles, including trailers, through Okene, Felele-Lokoja, and other adjoining communities.
In compliance with the directives of the Kogi State House of Assembly, the Agency, in conjunction with the Ministry of Transportation, is set to ensure the absolute and effective implementation of this regulation.
This regulation aims to prioritize the safety and well-being of our people in the state, particularly the affected communities, who have suffered irreparable losses due to the devastating impact of these heavy-duty vehicles.
To minimize disruptions, specific hours between 11:00 pm and 5:00 am, may be allocated for the movement of heavy-duty vehicles through Edo-Okene Road, Okene-Kabba Road, and Okene-Lokoja-Abuja Road. Additionally, Height Restriction Barriers will be considered at some strategic points.
The Kogi State Traffic Management Agency (KOTRAMA) will ensure full implementation of this regulation. Our office will work closely with the Office of the Commissioner of Transport to deploy trained manpower to enforce compliance.
We urge all stakeholders, including trailer operators and drivers, to cooperate with us to ensure a smooth implementation of this regulation upon commencement, as any heavy-duty vehicle found violating this regulation will be impounded.
