Leading from the Front: The Unrelenting Go-Getter, Dr. Amos Gizo, Who Rarely Misses His Target
By ABK
It was yet another remarkable development as Dr. Amos Gizo, Chairman of the Forum of River Basin Development Authority Chairmen in Nigeria, led a high-level delegation to a closed-door meeting with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Dr. George Akume.
Although the meeting was held privately, insights from our interaction with Dr. Gizo suggests that the outcome was fruitful, with far-reaching decisions and a strategic roadmap aimed at enhancing food security. This aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s directive to cut food prices by 50% as quickly as possible to ease the burden on ordinary Nigerians.
The forum presented a detailed plan outlining its prospects and strategies, all tailored to benefit the masses struggling with the effects of petroleum subsidy removal and currency floating.
Dr. Gizo also drew attention to the alarming state of infrastructure across various River Basin facilities, using the ones in Jos, Plateau State, as a key example. Similar neglect was reported in other states.
In response, the SGF pledged to work closely with the forum to ensure full implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on food security.
Details to follow in the subsequent bulletin.
