Kogi State Accountant-General Visits Ogori/Magongo Communities, Reaffirms Ododo's Commitment to Grassroots Development
The Accountant-General of Kogi State, Dr Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko on Sunday, paid a working visit to Ogori/Magongo local government area, where she reassured residents of the area of Kogi State Government’s unwavering commitment to community development and inclusive governance.
The Accountant-General was warmly received in the two communities by traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, government Appointees and the APC party stakeholders in the area.
She conveyed the appreciation of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the continued support of the people of Ogori/Magongo and emphasized that the current administration is determined to ensure that no community is left behind in the state’s development agenda.
She said, “Our visit today is a demonstration of the government’s resolve to bring governance closer to the people."
"Even though our party received little supports from all of you in the last governorship election except the Oshobane ward, the government of the day remain committed to moving forward with your community and maintaining a mother-child relationship, " the Accountant-General stated.
According to her, the present administration is fully dedicated to serving all segments of the society, particularly those at the grassroot level.
She assured the people that their concerns have been duly noted and will be relayed to the appropriate state agencies for swift action.
In his separate remarks in Ogori and Magongo communities, Kogi State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency boss, Hon. Ibrahim Ahovi encouraged the people to remain supportive of the present administration vision, assuring them that their voices and concerns have been noted by the Accountant General for prompt response.
Special prayers was offered by the Chief Imam of Magongo Central Mosque for the success of the present administration and for former governor Yahaya Bello.
APC stalwart Alh. Hussein Awuru who was also at the gathering, passed the message of High Chief Adesina Sylvanus Meka by expressing gratitude to the Accountant-General for the visit, describing it as a welcome gesture that reinforces the bond between the government and the people of Magongo.
Also in the Ogori community, the Vice Chairman, Mr Williams Alao thanked the Accountant-General for the important visit.
While hailing the Accountant-General for the clothes and cash donations to Ogori and Magongo communities, Mr Alao noted that the visit was part of government’s ongoing efforts to promote participatory governance and strengthen the trust between the government and rural communities.
Those in the entourage of the Accountant-General were the Director-General of Kogi State Pension Commission, Hajia Mariam Abedo, Chairman of Kogi State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Adams Adabenege, DSO Okene, Mr Mohammed Usman, Special Adviser for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Yusuf Omuya Nasiru, Special Adviser for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Bilikisu Aliyu and Mr Mohammed Lawal.
Recall that the Accountant General was also at Abuga Ozuja and Bariki Wards, all in Okene, yesterday to interface with the people, and earlier today was in Ageva community to promote people-centered governance.
