The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Ahmed Tijjani Muhammad Anaje, on Wednesday organized a grand reception in honor of a distinguished Ebira son, Major General Usman Tahiru Otaru (Rtd), to celebrate his outstanding service to the nation.

The colorful event, which attracted dignitaries, traditional rulers, political leaders, and well-wishers from across the region, was held to warmly welcome the retired Major General back home after years of meritorious service in the Nigerian Armed Forces.

As part of the highlights of the ceremony, the revered royal father formally conferred on Major General Usman Tahiru Otaru (Rtd) the prestigious honorary title of Ajimasi of Ebiraland, in recognition of his dedication, patriotism, and remarkable contributions to national development and the progress of Ebiraland.

Speaking during the reception, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland commended the retired general for bringing pride and honor to the Ebira people through his discipline, commitment, and exemplary leadership throughout his military career.

He noted that the conferment of the Ajimasi title symbolizes the kingdom’s appreciation for his service and loyalty.

In his response, Major General Usman Tahiru Otaru (Rtd) expressed deep gratitude to the royal father and the entire Ebira community for the warm reception and the honor bestowed upon him.

He described the recognition as a call to continue serving humanity and contributing to the unity and development of Ebiraland and Nigeria at large.

The grand reception featured cultural displays, goodwill messages from prominent personalities, and prayers for peace, unity, and continued progress in Ebiraland.

The high point of the event was the donation of an ambulance to the Model Primary Healthcare Centre, Oziokutu, in memory of the late Usman Maiyaki Asema. The hospital was built last year by the retired Major General.
