Hon. Meka Akpata has officially resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Kogi State Government, citing his intention to contest for the Ogori/Magongo seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly.
In a statement made available to the public, Akpata explained that his decision to step down was driven by his desire to fully commit to the pursuit of elective office and to serve the people of Ogori/Magongo at the Kogi State legislative capacity.
He noted that the move aligns with his long-standing passion for grassroots development and effective representation.
According to him, the decision was not taken lightly but became necessary in order to comply with ethical standards and give his ambition the required focus and dedication.
Akpata expressed gratitude to the state government for the opportunity to serve, adding that his experience as SSA provided him with valuable insight into governance and the needs of the people.
“I remain committed to the progress and development of Ogori/Magongo. This next step is about deepening that commitment and offering more direct representation to our people,” he stated.
