Arqam TV, Ansar, Alfala Media Team Host 2nd Annual Pre-Ramadan Conference on Halal Businesses
As Muslims prepare for the holy month of Ramadan, Arqam TV, Ansar, and Alfala Media Team have successfully organized the 2nd Annual Pre-Ramadan Conference with the theme “Halal Businesses: Balancing Dunya and Deen.”
The Islamic conference, held at the Arqam Orphanage Home, Ateba-Agassa, in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, attracted Islamic scholars, religious leaders, traders, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the programme, Alhaji Bello Mohammed, described the theme as timely and relevant, emphasizing that it was designed to remind traders and business owners of the need to fear Allah in their dealings and uphold ethical standards in commerce.
The guest Speakers, Imam Abdullahi Bin Umar, Mallam Oritogun Hazmat, and Ustadh Muhammed Jamiu Sadiq in their separate lectures, urged Muslim men to support their wives and daughters in engaging in responsible and halal businesses, especially in the face of prevailing economic challenges.
They also advised traders to exercise financial discipline, be time-conscious, and avoid interest-based loans (riba).
The scholars further explained that business capital could be sourced through family support, cooperative societies, and partnerships, rather than through interest-bearing loans, which contradict Islamic principles.
Representing Sheikh Lukman Abuyatama, Imam Sani commended the organizers for sustaining the initiative, noting that perseverance, determination, and strong faith are key ingredients for success in business. He stressed that Allah's consciousness and honesty are essential for business success, positing that trust in Allah and lawful earning are key to balancing worldly and spiritual goals.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Hassan Abu Mujiba, during the program, also announced plans to engage Muslim sisters in training and empowerment programmes for halal businesses, ensuring they trade with dignity and in line with Islamic values.
Notable scholars and personalities present at the conference included Alhaji Hadi Imam, Alhaji Zubair Abdullateef, and Ustadh Mohammed Jamiu, alongside other Imams, community leaders, and business professionals.
The organizers reiterated their commitment to promoting Islamic values, economic empowerment, and moral consciousness among muslims ahead of the Ramadan season.
