CUSTECH Teaching Hospital Students’ Hostels, Doctors’ Quarters: Kogi State Govt Hands Over Sites to Contractors, Charges Compliance with Specifications
The Kogi State Government has officially handed over the building plans for the Students’ and Doctors’ Quarters to designated contractors at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Teaching Hospital, Okene, urging them to strictly adhere to project specifications.
This move by the Kogi State Government marks a crucial step in improving accommodation infrastructure within the state’s health and education sectors.
The Governor, who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Taiye Abanika, emphasized quality delivery and timely execution to meet the state's developmental goals.
He disclosed that the project comprises four architectural structures to be executed by the following contractors: Doctors’ Quarters Block A by LAPIEO Multi Services Limited, Doctors’ Quarters Block B by UPAV Integrated Enterprise, Medical Students’ Hostel Block A by BVENT Construction Limited, and Medical Students’ Hostel Block B by Fulcrum Pad Global Limited.
While hailing the immediate past administration of Alh. Yahaya Bello for initiating the legacy project, Governor Ododo urged the host community to take ownership of the public infrastructure, support all government initiatives, and collaborate with the contractors.
The Governor stated his commitment to providing a comfortable living environment for all medical professionals in the state and ensuring a conducive space for academic pursuits, especially for medical students.
Some of the dignitaries who attended the groundbreaking ceremony included the Chairman of Okene Local Government, Hon. Nuhu Enesi; the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRH Dr. Ahmed Tijani Mohammed Anaje; the Ohi of Okene and Okengwe districts; the Majority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly; the Chairman of the House Committee on Housing; and the Member representing Okehi Constituency.
Others were the representative of the Honourable Commissioner for Health, the Chief Medical Director of the CUSTECH Teaching Hospital, and the Provost of the Medical College.
